At the age of 27, Jack Parkman might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Dallas designated hitter put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days collecting the Ambitions Southern League Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 10 hits in 24 at-bats, 5 home runs and 9 RBIs last week in 6 games.
So far this year Parkman is hitting .296 with 36 home runs. |
 | Monday, September 28th, 2009: Taylor Wins ANL Player of the Week
Jake Taylor is respected by most Chicago Nine fans for his no-frills style of play. The 30-year-old catcher went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Ambitions Northern League Player of the Week honors.
He compiled a .562 average (9-16) with 1 home run, 1 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
For the season, Taylor is hitting at a .297 clip with 20 home runs, 72 RBIs and has scored 77 runs. He has 149 hits, 101 walks and a .411 on-base percentage. |
 | Sunday, September 27th, 2009: Ryan Brown out of Lineup, Listed DTD
Dallas team officials speculated whether star reliever Ryan Brown would be scratched from today's ballgame after he suffered a finger blister in yesterday's matchup with the Atlanta Aces. Brown denied reports that he would miss a lot of time, but added that he would not risk further injury by playing.
To date this year, he has registered no saves, 13 wins and 11 losses with a 3.23 ERA. Brown has made no relief appearances, worked a total of 211.2 innings and surrendered 192 hits. He has fanned 195, issued 56 free passes and held opposing clubs to a .236 batting average. |
