Charles hit for a .346 average while collecting 53 hits, 5 doubles, 2 triples, 13 home runs, 40 RBIs and scoring 32 times. |  | Sunday, May 24th, 2009: 2009 Top Batter Picked Manuel Gabriel of the Longview College Fishermen had a fine season this year, and today he accepted the Outstanding Hitter Award for 2009.
The 21-year-old left fielder put up a .301 average and a .425 on-base percentage, piling up 43 hits, 7 doubles, no triples, 14 home runs, 30 RBIs and 34 runs scored. |  | Saturday, May 23rd, 2009: Sub League 2 Pitcher of the Year Named The Fort Wayne College clubhouse staff referred to him as "the kid" this season. Next year Bill Jackson will have to have a new nickname. He earned it after winning the 2009 Sub League 2 Outstanding Pitcher Award.
Jackson made 11 starts this year, winning 8 and losing 2. He threw 82.2 innings, fanned 60, allowed 74 hits and 11 walks, while holding opposing teams to a .239 average as he logged an impressive 1.96 ERA. | |
